Google Apps email lists (Groups) now support custom sending permissions and nested groups.
Google Apps email lists, now referred to as 'groups', have introduced two key improvements. Administrators can now set specific permissions to determine who is allowed to send messages to a group, with options including group owners, group members, domain members, or anyone in the world. Additionally, groups can now contain other groups, making it easier to manage and reuse frequently-referenced sets of users.

Premier Edition administrators can now specify up to 100 authorized Google Video uploaders.
Administrators of the Premier Edition can now restrict Google Video uploading capabilities to a specific list of up to 100 authorized users, rather than allowing every employee to have uploading capabilities. This can be configured from the administrative control panel by selecting 'Video' from the 'Service settings' menu and entering the authorized users in the 'Video Uploaders' box.

New Standard Edition customers are now limited to a maximum of 50 users.
Starting January 14, 2009, new customers signing up for the Standard Edition of Google Apps will be limited to a maximum of 50 users. Existing Standard Edition customers with more than 50 users can continue their current service at no charge, and schools and non-profits of all sizes still have access to the free Education Edition.
